City Council Planning Session Scheduled for February 28

The Marion City Council has scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the Marion Depot, located at 58 Depot Street in Marion.  The purpose of the meeting is to hold a Planning Session to discuss current and future projects and priorities.

City offices will be closed on Monday, January 16 for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

Residential garbage, recycling and street trash collection will run on a normal schedule the week of January 16-20.  There will be a partial brush collection the week of January 16-20.

Re-opening of Mount Ida Wilderness Area

The Mount Ida Wilderness Area reopened on Monday, December 12, 2016.  The Mount Ida Wilderness Area had been closed due to the increased risk of fire danger and extremely dry conditions.  If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 652-4224.

The only interruption to the schedule for residential garbage, recyclables & street trash will be the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas.

 

Thanksgiving – Thursday & Friday, November 24 & 25 (Sanitation Dept. closed)

NO brush pick up for this week

ALL Residential garbage, recyclables & street trash will be TWO (2) days in advance

EASTFIELD area will be on regular schedule.

 

Christmas – Thursday & Friday, December 22 & 23 (Sanitation Dept. closed)

NO brush pick up for this week

Burgin Street Closed to Through Traffic for Water and Drainage Line Replacement

Burgin Street is closed to through traffic while the replacement of a water line and drainage line takes place.  Residents on Burgin Street can access their homes, but the road will not be open to through traffic until the project is complete.  The City anticipates the project being completed in December.

The City thanks the residents of Burgin Street and the public for their patience while this work takes place.
