Marion Fire Department Mission Statement
Marion Fire Department is dedicated to providing the highest level of public service to the citizens and visitors of Marion and the Marion Area Fire District. We protect lives and property through fire suppression, disaster management, hazardous material response, fire prevention, and public education.
Marion Fire Department is a combination fire department consisting of 12 full time employees, seven part-time employees and about 18 volunteer firefighters. We stand ready to respond quickly to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Equipment includes three pumpers, a reserve pumper, a 102-foot aerial ladder truck, and two four wheel drive brush trucks. We participate in fire prevention and safety, the department offers school and civic club programs, fire station tours and school presentations.
The Fire Department conducts fire inspections if commercial and institutional buildings in the City of Marion in accordance with State law.
The Fire Department responds to emergencies in the City Limits and the six mile Marion Area Fire District.
The fire insurance rating for the City of Marion is a Class 5 and the rating for the Marion Area is a Class 6.
Ray McDaniel serves as the City’s Fire Chief.
